Andy Eastwood - Lead Vocals & Guitar
Born in Switzerland, Andy grew up in California, where he learned how to play the Guitar at first by himself. His greatest inspiration came from listening to Chicago, The Eagles and James Taylor.
He learned to play the Guitar at the age of 9 and later engaged in formal training from some of the leading mentors in their field, which inspired him to pursue a music career and graduate from the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston USA. Andy participated in several bands ranging from Classical Music, Jazz and Rock. His first hit was with his band Human Radio in 1989. The song "All my Life" made it into the Swiss Charts and climbed to top positions in charts all over Europe. His solo album "Forever" was released in Europe and South America in 2001. The Latin version "Nunca Mas", based on the English version of Forever, was translated by Ivon Rojas.
The latest project "The New School" started in 2015 in Zurich and marks a renaissance of summed up songs of the past and stunning arrangements of new Pop and Rock Genres. Andy calls it short "NEWSCOOL".
Jeremy Callner - Sax & Vocals
Jeremy Callner brings over 20 years of professional experience to Preludium. Jeremy, a native of Chicago, spent two years of college in Connecticut under the tutelage of jazz legend Jackie McLean (Miles Davis, Charles Mingus). After completing his degree in jazz saxophone at Roosevelt University in 1998 he spent the next several years playing in jazz clubs with some of Chicago’s best musicians, and hosting an all-star jazz jam session.
Although a lover of jazz saxophone, with influences ranging from Sonny Rollins to Bob Berg, Jeremy spent an equal amount of time studying the greats of the rock and blues genres. His sound is powerful and aggressive thanks to his rock and blues influences, but yet sophisticated due to his jazz background.
Jeremy has not limited himself to music, holding a PhD in Nuclear Physics, he first arrived in Switzerland to work on the Large Hadron Collider at CERN, where he secured his place in history as one of the discoverers of the elusive Higgs Boson. Since moving to Zürich in 2011, he had been on a musical hiatus, but he returns to the stage to add his powerful sound to Preludium.
Ric Monteiro - Bass & Vocals
Born a couple of decades too late, Ric's in his element with 70's funk/motown and 80's classics. The Groove is all that matters for this 5-string padawan.
Ric joins Preludium in late July 2018 and makes the band groove on "the bottom end".
Hugo Tau - Drums & Vocals
His parents already knew right at the moment of his birth, that Hug is going to become a fantastic drummer. Before he saw the light of day, Hugo was pounding away at his mothers stomach with R&B grooves right in his veins.
Hug was born In Italy and moved at an early stage in his life to Switzerland. At the age of 15 he took his first formal training to master drums and percussion. He played in several bands and participated in endless studio sessions where he perfected his skills.
In the 80s Hugo toured through out Switzerland and Europe wit several bands. In the 90s Hug enrolled in the SJS Swiss Jazz School in Bern to add I deep understanding of Jazz and complex African rhythms.
Hugo joins PRELUDIUM in late 2016 to complete the cool sound of the band and join their Europe tour.
Marcello Studer - Keys & Vocals
Coming from a musical family, Marcello started his musical education at the age of 9, taking trumpet lessons. A few years later - drawn into the world of Hip-Hop and later Funk as well as black music in general - he started writing songs, composing Beats and playing the piano.
Since then he’s been involved in countless bands and musical projects as a trumpet player, rapper, singer, pianist, songwriter and composer.
After one year in PreCollege of the Zurich University of the arts, he got accepted in mid 2018 as a major student in composition for film, theatre and media.
His major current occupations besides his studies are his own Funk/Hip-Hop band “Basta’s” as well as live-engagements for various improvisation theatre groups in and around Zurich.
