Preludium the Band

Preludium Live at More than Sounds

Preludium Rock Band

All Original 80's Song Writing

Our Story

ANDY EASTWOOD  - Lead Vocals & Guitar

Born in Switzerland, Andy grew up in California, where he learned how to play the Guitar at first by himself. His greatest inspiration came from listening to Chicago, The Eagles and James Taylor.

Music has been at the center of Andy’s life from the very beginning. He picked up the guitar at the age of six and quickly revealed an exceptional musical talent that would shape his future. Driven by passion and relentless dedication, he later studied under some of the most respected mentors in their fields, refining both his technical mastery and artistic expression. This journey eventually led him to pursue a professional music career and graduate from the prestigious New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, USA.

Throughout the years, Andy explored a wide spectrum of musical styles ranging from Classical Music and Jazz to Hard Rock and modern Pop. His versatility as both a guitarist and vocalist allowed him to develop a unique musical identity that combines technical brilliance with emotional depth.

As a guitarist, Andy is known for his explosive soloing, lightning-fast licks, expressive phrasing, and powerful stage presence. His playing effortlessly blends melody, speed, and precision, creating solos that are both technically stunning and emotionally captivating. Whether delivering soulful guitar lines or high-energy rock solos, his performances leave a lasting impression on audiences.

Equally remarkable is Andy’s extraordinary vocal ability. With an impressive vocal range spanning four octaves, he moves effortlessly from warm emotional passages to soaring high notes with power and control. His voice gives Preludium a distinctive sound — combining sensitivity, intensity, and raw energy in a way that few singers can achieve.

Andy’s first major breakthrough came in 1989 with his band Human Radio. Their song “All My Life” entered the Swiss charts and climbed to top positions across Europe, establishing Andy as an internationally recognized artist and songwriter. Building on this success, he later released his solo album Forever in Europe and South America in 2001. The Latin adaptation Nunca Más, translated by Ivon Rojas, introduced his music to an even broader international audience and showcased his ability to connect emotionally across cultures and languages.

Never limiting himself creatively, Andy continued evolving musically over the years. In 2015, he launched his latest project The New School in Zurich — a musical renaissance that combines reimagined original songs from the past with fresh, modern arrangements influenced by contemporary Pop and Rock genres. Andy simply calls this unique musical vision “NEWSCOOL” — a fusion of classic songwriting, modern soundscapes, and high-level musicianship.

Today, as the lead singer and guitarist of Preludium, Andy brings decades of international experience, virtuoso musicianship, and unmatched passion to the stage. His powerful voice, exceptional guitar work, and ability to connect with audiences transform every concert into an unforgettable live experience filled with emotion, energy, and musical excellence.

ROLF EBERHART - Bass

Rolf grew up in a very musical family in the Swiss Engadin. His father was a passionate saxophonist and his older sisters played Hammond organ and harmonica. Encouraged by his family, he also started playing Hammond organ at an early age. A short time later he joined the Pontresina Music Association where he played the trumpet.

On a sunny summer day in 1977, during a gathering with close friends, the idea of starting a band suddenly came to life. There was only one small challenge: nobody wanted to play bass guitar. Without hesitation, he stepped forward and decided to learn the instrument himself — a spontaneous decision that would shape his musical journey for decades to come. Soon after, the band Red Roosters was born.

What started as a youthful idea among friends quickly turned into something much bigger. Within a short time, the band began performing live concerts across Switzerland, bringing energy, passion, and unforgettable moments to audiences wherever they played. Over the following five years, music became far more than just a hobby — it became a defining part of his identity and a constant companion throughout life.

Even during periods when life focused more on work, family, and everyday responsibilities, the connection to music never disappeared. The bass remained a source of creativity, balance, and joy, always waiting in the background for the right moment to return to the stage.

That moment came in 2021 when he met Andy. Their shared passion for music immediately reignited the fire that had always been there. Inspired and motivated once again, he joined Preludium in 2022, bringing with him not only years of musical experience, but also authenticity, groove, and a deep understanding of how to support and elevate a band’s sound.

As the bassist of Preludium, he provides the solid foundation that connects rhythm, melody, and emotion. His warm bass lines, steady grooves, and musical sensitivity give the songs depth and character while helping create the powerful live atmosphere that defines the band today. Beyond his playing, he brings positivity, reliability, and the spirit of someone who has lived music not only as entertainment, but as a lifelong passion.

BERT HORVATH - Keys

Bert joins Preludium in September 2019 to bring more color and texture into the bands live performances. Early on in Bert's life, he had a harmonium at home. This is a piece of furniture with white and black buttons and two large pedals for pumping air. It sounds just like an organ. His father and mother practiced their hymns on it. That's how Bert got started and he never stopped playing. Bert brings years of experience with him on stage and in the music studio. The sound of Preludium is now enhanced with great synth sounds from the 80's and new stuff, which Bert brings to table.
