Songtext

[Verse 1]
Highway man
Haulin' from the east side to the west
Never gettin' time to have a rest
Thinkin' 'bout life and how he's blessed
Take me home
I'm livin' on the wrong side of life
Thinkin' of my long-left wife
Drinkin' for the afterlife
Highway man

[Chorus]
I'm out on the road
I'm headin' south to L.A.
Got another thousand miles
Get it out of the way
Highway man
I'm out of time
With a load on my mind
Baby, come on home to see you tonight
I'm your highway man

[Verse 2]
Highway man
I'm lookin' for a new identity
Never givin' up serenity
I'm not against humanity
For your love
I'm drivin' through a hell that's on my mind
Float-in' off the road, I'm turnin' blind
I'm a highway man

[Chorus]
Highway man
I'm out on the road
I'm headin' south to L.A.
Got another thousand miles
Get it out of the way
Highway man
I'm out of time
With a load on my mind
Baby, come on home to see you tonight
I'm your highway man

[Bridge]
Highway man
Highway man
I know that I love you, baby, I do
I do, I do, I do
Every time we reunite

[Chorus]
Highway man
I'm out on the road
I'm headin' south to L.A.
Got another thousand miles
Get it out of the way
Highway man
I'm out of time
With a load on my mind
Baby, come on home to see you tonight
I'm your highway man
